The Beijing New Airport terminal area consists of the passenger terminal building, transfer center, and comprehensive service building with parking structure, with a total building area of 1.03 million square meters. It exceeds Capital International Airport T3 Terminal and is currently the world's largest airport terminal building, planned for completion in 2019. The architectural design uses the "Snowflake" shaped plan by Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Zaha Hadid.

GALA Lighting served as the architectural lighting design and daylighting/shading consultant, providing unique solutions for the project. Through computer-aided automatic optimization of shading unit shape parameters, the best results were achieved in terms of economy, energy efficiency, aesthetics, and practicality.
